What you are playing against
Optic Blast is a quick burst; Concussive Beam is a sustained beam that refracts between enemies and terrain. Ricochet Force (two charges) bounces and tracks after hitting terrain. Propulsion Burst pushes him and the target apart and slows them, and Optic Ascent launches him upward. Ruby Rage, his ult, sweeps a beam that leaves explosive energy behind.
Season 10.5 (Oct 6, 2026) raised Optic Blast from 22 to 23 damage and cut Ruby Rage's cost from 3700 to 3400.
Picks that work
Sustain beats him. Rocket, Cloak & Dagger, Jubilee and Mantis out-heal his poke, and Black Widow (+4.6) out-ranges it.
Our picker's Cyclops list is mostly soft picks (weight 1), with Rocket and Cloak & Dagger as good picks. Nothing is a hard counter because nothing needs to be.
He does beat Devil Dinosaur (+10.8) and Wolverine. If you're on one of those, cover is your friend.
Habits that beat him
Ricochet Force tracks after it bounces off terrain. Fighting next to walls gives it more angles.
Propulsion Burst slows you and creates space. Don't burn your gap-closer until it's on cooldown.
Ruby Rage leaves a second explosion behind it. Get out of the beam's path, not just out of the beam.
