From our counter data, strongest first. Bars show the weight: strong, good, soft. How weights work
What you are playing against
Spear Toss and Spinning Kick put Vibranium Marks on you. Spirit Rend lunges in, and hitting a marked target refreshes it and grants bonus health, so a good Panther chains three or four lunges together. Subtle Step lets him run on walls, Panther's Cunning makes him hit harder at low health, and Bast's Descent, his ult, pounces forward, marks everyone it hits and refreshes Spirit Rend.
Picks that work
The Thing (+17.6), Angela (+15.4), Peni Parker (+15.3), Mister Fantastic (+12.5) and Thor (+12.4) are his hardest matchups on Counterwatch. They are all heroes who stay in his face and survive the first lunge.
Our picker rates Captain America and Punisher as strong picks. Punisher's Culling Turret shreds a Panther who has just lunged in.
He farms squishy supports: Jeff, Rocket, Invisible Woman, Squirrel Girl and Mantis are his easiest matchups. If you're on one of them, stay near a tank.
Habits that beat him
Kill the first lunge. If he doesn't get a reset on Spirit Rend, he is a 150 + 125 shield hero sitting in the middle of your team.
Remember Panther's Cunning. He gets stronger at low health, so finish him before you turn away.
When Bast's Descent comes in, everyone it marked is a reset target. Peel for the marked players.
