What you are playing against

Magneto is a shield tank. Metallic Curtain blocks all incoming projectiles, Iron Bulwark shields himself and Metal Bulwark shields an ally. Damage soaked by either shield becomes rings on his back, which he fires as Mag-Cannon. Meteor M, his ult, draws in projectiles to make the meteor stronger.

Season 10 (balance post, Sep 8, 2026) cut his base health from 650 to 600 and both Bulwark shields from 250 to 200. He is still a 48.9% hero on Counterwatch, and he gets picked a lot: 116,955 tracked matches.

Picks that work

Wolverine is a strong pick in our picker and the top Counterwatch counter. Savage Claw does percentage damage, Feral Leap ignores the curtain, and Magneto has no displacement to stop him.

Habits that beat him

Every bullet you put into a Bulwark becomes Mag-Cannon damage coming back at you. Shoot the ally who doesn't have the shield.

Hold projectile ults until Meteor M is spent or Magneto is out of position. Firing into an active meteor makes it bigger.

Hela, Black Panther and Black Widow are his easiest matchups on Counterwatch. If that is your hero, play around him instead of into him.
