How to counter Spider-Man
Last updated
Spider-Man punishes anyone who can't look up and anyone who flies. The Thing (+15.1), Angela (+13.2) and Doctor Strange (+11.7) top his counter list, and Peni Parker is a strong pick in ours.

Counter picks for Spider-Man
From our counter data, strongest first. Bars show the weight: strong, good, soft. How weights work
What you are playing against
His combo starts with Web-Cluster, which tags you with a Spider-Tracer. Get Over Here! then reels you in, or pulls Spider-Man to you if you are tagged. Amazing Combo launches you upward; Season 10 halved its cooldown from 2s to 1s (balance post, Sep 8, 2026). Web-Swing gets him in and out, and Spectacular Spin, his ult, stuns everyone around him.
He feeds on flyers. On Counterwatch he is the hardest counter to Iron Man (+15.8) and Ultron (+14.9), and he beats Human Torch too.
Picks that work
The Thing and Angela lead because Spider-Man has to come close to kill, and both of them win close fights.
Peni Parker, Namor and Mister Fantastic are strong picks on our list. Peni fills his landing spots with webs and mines; Mister Fantastic is also on Counterwatch's top five (+11.2).
Doctor Strange (+11.7) is a team-pressure counter: his shield takes away the free pick on your backline.
Devil Dinosaur (+10.5) is worth knowing about for one reason: Prehistoric Plating makes him immune to the launch from Amazing Combo.
Habits that beat him
If you're tagged with a Spider-Tracer, expect Get Over Here! next. Stand near your tank so he lands in front of them.
Iron Man, Ultron, Storm and Human Torch players: hug your team when Spider-Man is up. Flying alone over a flank is how he gets his kills.
Spectacular Spin stuns in a circle. When he swings in with ult, spread out instead of collapsing on him.
