How our counter picks work
Last updated
Every counter on RivalsCounters has a weight: strong, good or soft. The seven 2026 heroes and Black Widow's rework were rated from Counterwatch counter ratings read on October 29, 2026. Older entries were set by hand from counter guides and kit knowledge.
What the weights mean
- Strong (3)
- Counter rating of +10 or higher on Counterwatch. Pick this.
- Good (2)
- Counter rating from +5 to +9.9.
- Soft (1)
- Under +5, or a guide-only pick with no rating behind it. Useful as a tiebreaker.
A Counterwatch counter rating measures how much better a hero does than average in fights against a target, based on duel and teamfight outcomes. It is not the same as overall match win rate.
How the Team Builder ranks picks
Add up to six enemy heroes to the Team Builder. It scores every counter by adding its weights across all the enemies you picked, so a hero who is a good counter to three of them (2 + 2 + 2) outranks a strong counter to one (3). It also suggests full teams that cover every enemy hero.
Questions
Where does the counter data come from?
Counter weights for the heroes added in 2026 and for reworked Black Widow come from Counterwatch matchup ratings read on October 29, 2026. Older entries were set by hand from counter guides and kit knowledge. Win rates and tiers on our guide pages are Counterwatch numbers across all ranks.
How often is it updated?
The current data reflects Season 10.5, which started on October 9, 2026. Every guide shows the date it was last updated.
Why does a low win-rate hero show up as a strong counter?
Win rate and counter rating measure different things. Punisher has one of the lowest win rates this season (45.5%) but is one of the top two counters to both Peni Parker and Devil Dinosaur.
